Personal

I am Andrew Alexander Barber, who lives in a small town at the bottom of Loch Lomond called Balloch. I currently study BSc Computing at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Life

I enjoy doing many things with my friends, things can be not be defined as it can be a massive array of different things depending on mood and resources. A few things I really enjoy are;

Scouting Movement

I am a member of the Scout Family, currently a Scout Leader who helps out with multiple sections within the local Scout Community. I help out with First/Third Vale of Leven Cubs and Scouts Section and also from time to time the Explorer Section. I am kind of a member of the Lennox Scout Network, however I only attend activities when time permits.

Free/Open Source

I have been a GNU/Linux user for many years now, been through many distrobutions in my time ranging from Binary to Source.
Currently I help a lot in the Free and Open Source World with tasks ranging from helping out on the Freenode IRC Network to documenting for the Ubuntu GNU/Linux distribution.
I am a member of my local Linux User Group called ScotLUG, and try to also pop into other meetings where ever possible.

Religion

This is a very complicated mater, too complicated for me to go into on this site.
I was actually christened as a Protestant Christian how ever my family are not very religious and I have never had faith pushed upon me. I would not classify myself as a Christian and don't follow any real faith.
I do believe in a superior being however.

Music

I have an extremely varied taste in music and listen to all sorts of music depending on my mood. It can range from Children of Bodom to Christina Aguilera.

Work

I currently work for the Co-operative Retail Group as a measly Shop Floor Assistant. Mainly working on the Produce section (Fruit and Veg) although I am trained in just about all areas. I have been working there for 2 years now and I am looking for a new job, due to lack of progression opportunities. As said above I am mainly part of the Balloch branch, however I have travelled about working in many stores.
Before that I have had a small array of jobs including; Kitchen Porter, Computer Repair Guy and Maintenance at a Golf Course.
I have also done paid web development work, how ever these are normally small projects.
